We’re pretty tough on our bulls here at Mount Linton. This year’s yearlings were wintered in two mobs of 137. No special treatment, no feeding them up to look pretty for sale day. Or, as Mat puts it, we’re not in the “over-fed fat race,” and we don’t plan on joining it.
What makes the cut has to stack up where it matters - structure, temperament, feet, calving ease and performance. Last year our commercial heifers had a 99.1% unassisted calving rate, with just 7 out of 802 needed a hand.
We reckon this year’s line-up is a good one.
